This manga was actually very influential in shaping the current pop culture image of Maeda Keiji and the main reason why so many modern games include him as a completely OP character. Originally Keiji was not really a significant character in Sengoku fiction (he wasn't historically that significant to begin with) outside of Kabuki plays and kabukimono literature, and both weren't that popular anymore in postwar Japan. It was really this manga that made him popular again.
