Her inability to say "I'll always love you", instead saying "I won't forget about you" is heartbreaking, that she was so separated from humanity at birth by being cursed with power... she ends up carrying a lot of the plot on her back but rarely in an overt way. It being a one-sided conversation too makes it even harder.
