Another thing about baths is that not only did they become more common at homes, they became a lot bigger.

Yes, those tiny bathtubs used to be even smaller at home, like a large square bucket that you could just about squat in (and you'd still usually drag one of the kids along to save on hot water).

So I guess a big driver to the home bath might actually have been "cheaper energy" and "self-heated tubs".
