I was thinking the exact same thing. The story is interesting but god is the mc passive. I thought he was transported to the future cause he was strong enough to be considered a sage but all he does is use the same 2 spells over and over while staying in the backline with his guard down?
Not a good sign for the futur of this story cause as he is now (in terms of caracter) the only way he 'saves the world' is with some bs plot amor or if the villains are incompetent.

Remains to be seen, maybe we will see some caracter growth but from what we see in the first 20 chapters i doubt it.
