I get the feeling they had a lot more planned, but the execution just couldn't be agreed upon... unless there's some other bizarre story waiting in the wings, the introduction of random new tech/side faction in this was just... puzzling. I have a feeling that Ukyo Kodachi was guiding Shigenobu for this (same team and all) since he seems to be taking on the new Fukui spot for lore/writing as of late.

i just dont see the point in developing lore thats like 20 years in the past instead of doing stuff closer to the current timeline, because we obv know ts will not mean anything in the long run so i dont see the point in introducing new factions that never show up again unless they expand on these factions in new side stories.

Because it's always easier to shoehorn something new in versus coming up with something entirely brand new. Plus, given the framework of Gundam as it is, it's hard to work around constraints sometimes. It's easier to put in some one-off technology at this point in time that gets forgotten or abandoned later, versus trying to dance around limited technological constraints further on in the timeline.

yep. i can see that they probably has more plan to expand the story (about Leto looking for makami and the wearwolf gundam which leads her to finally rescue him from the titans' secret base) but got axed instead.

well, it is what it is, i guess.
