You know. I feel it would be interesting if the story went instead of them having some connection when they were young. She takes the note thing and gaslights the guy into thinking they had a connection when they were young and he just forgot. She's into him and goes through all this effort to play the role of forgotten childhood friend and established a relationship all while the MC has no idea and just thinks "I guess I did meet her before and I just forgot."

Would be funnier that way and slightly darker.
