I feel like there's some hidden literary meaning that im too stupid to understand 😭 😭

Hototogisu bird or clam and sparrow? The latter is easier to understand because it was already explained two chapters ago: clams are a symbol of marriage and the sparrow is said to turn into a clam in winter, so she's still in the process of deciding on her feelings for Jinya. Is she still a sparrow (not doing anything about it) or ready to be a clam (try to get together with him).

The hototogisu bird is hinting that the Yotaka might have been the original owner of both masterpiece trinkets because it's trying to return to her. That suggests a very sad backstory.

I see! I wonder if the hairpins are going to be returned to her later? Maybe they hold some sentimental value, or is this mystery finished?
Anyway, I like Yotaka so I hope she has a happy ending in this story.

so i guess yotaka has a connection with the miura family too? jinta got his kougai from the eldest son, and the completed pair or rather the hototogisu bird was drawn to her
