Even in a world with monsters stronger than the average human, helmets are still important pieces of armor. Any kind of attack deflection helps, especially given that almost any head damage in a fight can drastically affect the outcome, if not end things immediately. Hell, it'd be worth it just to protect against debris from the inevitable environment-damaging attacks down the line. Shrapnel is just as deadly as any weapon.
Admittedly, it is nice that the author at least tried to give a reason as to why nobody wears a helmet. Not a good reason, but they tried.

To add on the good helmet discussions here: a helmet could safe him on a simple case of him tripping/getting knocked back and hitting his head on a tree/rock, considering fights in a forest littered with a lot of things.

Also, let’s also not forget he took a good blow to the head on ch. 2 that almost incapacitated him. This experience, ironically he might have forgotten because that very blow.

Love how the author continues to inform us of how talentless our main hero is. Glad the MC understands the grind.

Aria: "I recommend buying these set of armor"
Kikori: "But what about the helmet?"
Aria: "Helmet? LOL! Just don't get hit in the head bro!"

Yeah I appreciate they're at least trying to justify it, but holy shit is it so wrong.

Helmets are the FIRST piece of equipment people buy; head wounds are debilitating but the head is also very cost efficient to cover with rigid metal armor.

He at least gets a chest protector next, but he really should have gotten something for his belly instead of the stupid arm and shin guards.

Literally all their arguments against buying a helmet are just as applicable to every other piece of armour. Aiming for gaps? Getting crushed by strong monsters? None of that is helmet exclusive

So he went into a weapon shop to buy an armor?
Is a bit strange for author to do that despite the fact that MC was living with the armor store owner.
