Can he just not be so fucking roundabout about the topic? It's not so difficult asking "Are you the person I talked to that day?" Like imagine getting your motivation to study from a random person you talked to one time, and then just act like complete strangers when you meet them again, biding your time to fulfill a silly promise she might eventually forget.

Honestly, I think i'm just about done with romance mangas. It's always shitty plots about misunderstandings and people just not communicating like normal human beings.

Have you read “the fragrant flower blooms with dignity” I would highly recommend it because they act as real humans and they communicate with each others

I completely get where you're coming from, but trust me, you're just reading the wrong ones. There are a lot of really great romance manga!

These are just random recs from some random person whose taste you don't know anything about, so I wouldn't blame you for ignoring them, but I'd recommend:

Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu
Chikan Otoko
Skip to Loafer
Sakamichi no Apollon
Kimi wa Houkago Insomnia
Koe no Katachi

And these last two, especially the second, have the tag but are interesting mostly for other reasons. They're the best two here though:

I have read almost all of these to the latest chapter, and they're definitely some of the better ones. That is unfortunately not the case for like %95 of the other romance manga. You rarely find a diamond in a pile of garbage, and it's not worth the effort when I know I read most of the good ones.

Just being a harem is like shotting both legs with a shotgun. Not like there cannot be quality romance in the genre but its at odds against itself.

And this isnt even the worst harem slop has to offer.
