Is that hair thing true for Japanese idols? Korean idols change their hair all the time and definitely get it cut. Part of the selling point of new songs is getting to see a new style from them.

I know at the very least that it's not a major thing in seiyuu idols. love live seiyuu will typically style their hair like their characters during concerts, but never have the coloring, and occasionally don't have the right length for it
