Yep, I knew Hakuraku is the main villain here. He's the one with extreme obsession to art, or as he said here, art of death.

Here's my new issue. We have not one, not two, but three mentally deranged people here all grouped together in this small town for no real reason. And no, Sora is not one of them. His mental instability mildly makes sense. He was raised in an emotionally abusive household. Done. Easy.

The real issue is that you have his two parents and Hakuraku all being mentally unhinged in different ways all in this small town. It's a case of coincidences piling onto each other. It's sloppy writing.
