Two questions for the people who want Clover to be Fuu:
1) Do you think it's possible for Clover to have had the motive "Uichi's a murderer" since he was a small child, or to have known who to manipulate and how at just the right times, without being a time traveler?
2) Do you think there's a solid case for Fuu having the same ability to time travel as Yotsuha?

I can't rule out that the author is going for a farked-up copy of the Higurashi ending, not when it seems apparent that Higurashi and the original Butterfly Effect movie are both strong influences. But I hope not, and I don't think the plot elements they've given us would offer reasonable support for one.

~~~
Another thought: I wouldn't be surprised if Rei's already dead as they're walking up… but if so, the author really messed up the angle on whatever is tied around his neck. (It should be straight down unless somehow this method strangles him despite part of his bodyweight being supported by something he's standing on, which seems really implausible but stranger things have happened.)
The weird thing is that if you've read stories like this and understand tropes, it just feels like Koushi is making it really obvious that she's the mastermind by casting suspicion and then having Yotsuha say things like "no it couldn't be here." But at the same time, Koushi could be taking advantage of the readers' genre-awareness to set her up as a red herring; use the suspicious behavior to make us think we've figured it out, but then also subvert that by actually making her a genuine ally.
We're basically too far down the rabbit-hole with this genre for any expectations to actually be subverted.
The Fuu thing is so on the nose in this chapter that now I am starting to think she is not Clover despite thinking that for the whole manga so far.
Two questions for the people who want Clover to be Fuu:
1) It's very possible and I am assuming it has to do with the animal named "U-chan" they were burying at the start of the first chapter. It is possible that it was a pet dear to Fuu and Uichi directly or indirectly caused its death.
And if that is the reason then I'll say that U-chan is 100% a cat because there was this little trivia in Chapter 24.5 and it would be cool foreshadowing:
2) Before this chapter I'd say that no, but this chapter's reveal that her father does physics stuff does open up that possibility. Still, I'd prefer for that to not be the case since I don't want this to turn into Higurashi Gou.
All good about our suspicion regarding Fuu (I check raws and am still not certain) but what about Rei and Uichi meeting? What happened with that?
Thanks a lot for the scanlation ^.^
Thanks for the tip. Dortex confirmed and appreciates your correction, and I've updated the page.
No problem! To be fair, the correct reading wasn't something intuitive I feel, and was only revealed nearly 2 months later.
Yeah, like i don't really know what to expect at this point, anythhing can happen
It can be a red herring, but also not, it is a wild ride we're on
Horrible potential twist: Some unfortunate coincidence makes her guess Fuu is Clover, but she's wrong and something awful happens as a result. 😭
