This Case Solution is kinda dumb . LOL you force a guy to drink a tea ( Which you say it might be poison) and if he doesn't drink he is guilty like WTF Bro is this even illegal ? XDDD
Also maybe it's only manga thing but really "Because it's closer to an accident,she is not charged" ???? Like OMG they literally kidnapped that family and lock them in the car to death ( even if they didn't want them dead )..Is Japanese law really that of a joke? No wonder people in this manga resolve to mureder instead of going to the police LUL

You'd be dumber if you can't even understand the actual context. Kindaichi specifically set up a trap for Izawa, whom he knows is the true culprit, by making him think Kindaichi will point the finger at Hoshiko, a scenario in which case suicide by poison would make sense for her to do. Thus, Izawa set things up to appear just that way...but then, to his surprise, Kindaichi outed Izawa himself as the culprit, and now, faced with the very poisoned tea cup he himself prepared, Izawa finds himself thoroughly outsmarted, with no way out other than drinking the poisoned cup himself.
