Thanks for back to back chapters, well the behavior to not yield is somewhat expected. It would have been weird to see Shintei fall without a fight. Han ruler can't just bend the knee even if he believe Nanyou is safe peaceful..

To be fair, Qin is still unproven. We've been through hundreds of chapters, and what does Qin have to show for it? A couple of cities, and a stalemate that everyone is sure they will lose. From an outside perspective, he really is nothing more than just another bloodthirsty tyrant who will meet his end, just as every other one that has risen in the warring states.

I mean, Han will be the first proof to other Kingdom. And Chou isn't entirely wrong. Once Qin win either by force or negotiation, even if everyone will retain their position, Qin will start recruiting people and fund for war from them; it not 'nothing will change', it's 'things will change not as bad as you think'.

For Han, it's still unproven. Just one city isn't comparable to whole Kingdom. But once Qin defeat Han and things still proceed in the same direction, then other smaller Kingdom might start second guessing if they should resist Qin and spill their blood, or just surrender, lose some wealth and men to conscription, and everything continue pretty much the same.
