Now I'm wondering if he's thinking that since he met Tamaki, his rise in success is because of her. On one hand, that's great cause he can his inspiration more easily as she is his muse, but on the other hand, speaking personally, it's kind of hurts your pride as an artist since it's not your own personal growth.

As a somewhat narcissistic person, he's also (I think) threatened by the idea that his "artistic identity" is being watered down.
