Well, schools are supposed to close at some percentage of ill students before such a situation so that sickness won't spread. I don't know for each country though. Also there is yearly immunisation. Also don't know if all world have it.

In my 16 years of education and several other years with siblings, cousins, and other relations going to school, I have never heard of a school shutting down due to illness. I live in the USA.
