I wonder what would be your take on Menou's sad face when she informs Kochou of the reason why Akayashi don't dream (in the Plum arc?). My take on this has always been that it is the author's intention to prompt this question in readers and at the same time provide no answer for it because Menou is designed to be an enigmatic character, like Shirogane's father, whose smile in his final moments is but to deciphered.
