This is good stuff. I love the rough, heavy art style - it reminds me a lot of Abe Youichi - and it's nicely paired with the dry wit and the sense of hidden depth - the certainty that there's much more going on in Kodama-san's mind than she lets on.

this story is quite original, at least to me. it's uniquely appealing due to its idiosyncratic character interactions and less predictably trite storyline. that said, it is also presently quite simple with only two main characters and one distinguishing concept, although that can be forgiven due to its novelty.

sorry for the pretentiousness. that was my hand at being a literature girl. (cringe)

I love how detachedly flirty they are and how we're seeing everything from his point of view as an unreliable narrator.

The unreliable narrator is quite old in literature, of course, but sadly rare in manga unless they just really rub in your face as a gag or they're going for shocking ending twist (and even then it's pretty uncommon). So it's nice to see it used for slice of life.
