For now, I think Ayumi is more confused than being doormat.
She trained to be a butterfly and do her part in fighting. Getting dragged by Towa to other queens and being treated as their equal is not something she could possibly imagine, so she’s trying her best to follow up the situation while being cautious to not take the wrong step.

The normal personality change probably helps them to adjust quickly. But Ayumi doesn’t have that, she’s still her old self thrown into a new life.

I think the butterflies are what’s left of humanity.
Their society are split between the butterflies and the candidates, and seems to be their whole world. No working to feed the rest of humanity behind the scene.

In the WN at least, the butterflies seems to be unaging.
