And now you have come to the end of your journey, brother(s)/sister(s).
Congratulations. May your scanlation be as eternal as immortal Katō Buntaro. Arigatou gozaimasu.

I'm glad you liked it, folks! I'm super proud of this and it's definitely one of my favorite series. I really wanted to do this for years but didn't have time. In all it ended up taking around 7 months to redo the whole series from just my old scripts. I think I found all the mistakes and awkward sentences.

Also I think the typesetting is wayyyy better here. I realized long after the fact the other groups just didn't typeset the Niimi map text at all (or the pages with the text on written on the walls in volume 10). And a few times text was misplaced or something. On top of some questionable font choices. Also I don't think I originally translated the glossaries for the last few volumes. And I was translating from the magazine versions of the chapters for volumes 14-16 or so which had changed chapter titles in the volumes for a few chapters. So a lot of stuff was improved on top of the better resolution. I hope this serves as the best, archival version of it. It's the best version I personally can do anyhow. And it being one of my favorites I wanted the best possible version of it out wiht my name on it.

Thanks to all who read it.

There were some typos and awkward grammar mistakes, but all in all I am grateful that you uploaded this better version. There were times where I couldn't really make out what happened on the page in the previous scanlation which are now clear to me.

When I was up to chapter ~50 I thought "the reason this is so highly rated is because it painstakingly accurately depicts the experience of introversion and loneliness, and that resonates with the people that read manga online". Now that I'm finished I think I was only maybe 25% correct. This is a masterwork, art and writing both. And I'm glad he lived, too. I understand how poetic it would be to have him splayed out on the peak but there's a message to the manga no matter which angle you go with, and I'm happy it was this one. Thanks for the translation, it was worth the read.
