My guess is they wanted MC into their party and thats about it. Although @HDMI1 could be correct on that it's a stop the alliance.

I love his attitude so much and admittedly it's pretty pathetic when these "all powerful" end bosses proactively choose to look like toddlers. Like are they lonely and looking to be cared for because their parents didn't love them during developmental? I don't get it. Generally speaking most people wouldn't choose to look like a child unless they get the full benefits that comes with it and none of the tradeoffs (like being looked down upon and having no agrncy).
