I don't know if the translation of the word magic was official or a redraw. If it is just a redraw, then I gotta say, I thought it was official art. Whoever did those redraws is really good, I couldn't really tell it apart from what the official art might be.

After checking the raws, its a redraw. A very good one, but nonetheless I dont like it. Reason being that it doesnt fit along with how his magic works - its not a “single/double/triple word” but a “character”, which since its kanji could be very different. When he first unlocked double character magic, he used a single word - explosion. But since it was created by two kanji, it was not counted as a “single character word magic”.

That and tbh i think it just looks tacky no matter how well done it is. Then again just my two cents

I assume that most of us here (including myself) do not understand Japanese, so it shouldn't matter if the Kanji is left in since we won't even be able to understand what it means in the first place. Translations are meant to be adaptations and not a perfect copy of the original since trying to perfectly copy-translate a language that's so different from English like Japanese would make the translation a complete mess.
