Weren't the humans beaten already? I seem to recall some of Hiiro's classmates got captured by the former demon king and a couple of them surrendered to the new demon queen.

The "heroes" were the decoy. I think the main invasion force is still all good so to say.

The force that invaded is the beasts’. Hiro broke the bridge so there won’t be anymore reinforcements, but there’s already a force in the demon lands. This tournament is to end that.

Also, the heroes are the only human force that invaded. If you re-read chpt 62 and 70, it is mentioned that those 4 came without other human reinforcements.
Plus seeing the forces that clashes in the demon lands in the chapters around that, we’ll see the only humans are either Hiro or those 4.

They've been sparring for more than a year in lieu of... having a war I think? Skimming through earlier chapters, the hero guy told the other nations to come spar or they'll have a war or something. That's his way to flex on other races while avoiding casualties.

Too bad the story is going nowhere because I liked the premise.

Nah just 100 chapters more. This would be the first enemy death. This is also nearing the part where the author rebooted the series some years ago.
