Okay, so, I haven't read beyond this chapter yet as I make this comment, but... while this seems very harsh from Ooguro off the bat, I think I see where this may be going.
If Yui is going to be a public-facing representative of the company, she is going to need to be very particular about a lot of things, especially how she speaks and communicates. Like, I'm not in sales or marketing; I'm sure I'd have to act differently than I do right now, which is pretty direct and unvarnished when talking with our vendors (i.e. I'm their customer) or internal colleagues. There's no way that'd fly in something like PR/sales/marketing.
So, while this is a pretty cold reception by Ooguro, it could be coming from a very practical angle.
