It's a tired trope but I really like the setup & characters here. These stories so often have a bland no-personality protagonist, but the MC here has got some interesting stuff going on.

The big brother and big sister are very sweet and caring for their jounger siblings, the kids are great friends and both big bro and big sis are slowly falling in love. This is definitely a must read if you are into romance without unnecessary drama.

the parents are just inconsiderate assholes, they leave him to practically do all the chores around the house i could assume such as the cleaning the feeding the entertaining and some bits of educating the siblings at home (wether its because the kids are curious) and then they also expect him to be in the top 50 of his class/school??! the only way the parents could be even bigger assholes is to force him to get a job while having all these responsibilities, surely the parents dont BOTH need to be working all the time too or at least they could sort out some sort of schedule to loosen the responsibilities off his shoulders? and lastly you’d think those assholes wouldve at least had planned out what would happen if they were to have more kids, like who’s going to take care of them.

overall i think the writing is okay but the parents are assholes the writer shouldve just doubled down on them being shitheads instead of trying to make them look good (kind of???).

Please allow me to understand this. The stepdad comes into this kids life brings two kids dumps them on him, then lectures him about his grades, threatens to take the kids away after he grew a full emotional attachment to them as a punishment for said grades, and has the absolute audacity to call himself this kids dad? Don't even get me started on the mother just sitting there while her son is chewed out by the guy dumping every single responsibility a teenager SHOULDNT have on him.
