So I obviously like this series enough to translate it, but I felt this chapter leaves out all the important stuff - how the hell does Hajiro manage to resuscitate someone who's gone into cardiac arrest AND presumably safely deliver the baby at roughly the same time with little access to medical equipment beyond a defibrillator she's stolen from a shopping mall and without being fully trained? I thought that's where the drama was going to come from, but instead we skipped pretty much everything medical entirely aaaaaand we're off to the next story.

I also think the art gets a liiiiiittle janky in some panels; the proportions/perspective go a bit weird whenever characters are reaching forward out of the panel (not sure how to describe it - I'd say "into the camera" if this was TV/film). Still, it remains a decent debut.

I mean the purpose of a defibrillator is to restart the heart during cardiac arrest so if you’re going to have limited equipment, that’s about ideal as you can get (so long as it’s a shockable rhythm). She also did provide immediate CPR. As a medical resident in Japan, she presumably completed all of her 6 years of medical school. So, she has at least a full medical education and has had some clinical experience in the shelters administering care based on the flashback.
