i’m sorry but the power dynamics in this manga are actually insane.
why are the teachers acting like they’re the same age as the students?? awhole adult woman is out here letting some teenagers interrogate her, call her “scum,” sit her down for a talk, set conditions on who she’s “allowed” to date, and she just quietly apologizes like she’s in trouble with the popular girls.
and the worst part is she isn’t even dating the guy. the entire “scandal” is literally just a misunderstanding caused by a student crush… yet the adults are walking on eggshells like they’re subject to high school romance rules.
instead of enforcing boundaries or shutting down inappropriate behavior, the teachers act like they owe emotional explanations to children. the students’ jealousy is treated as morally valid, and the adults reorganize their personal lives around it. it completely flips the teacher–student dynamic into something backwards and uncomfortable.
teen drama is fine... when it stays among teens. but when the teachers are the ones tiptoeing around a 14-year-old’s crush, treating it like a real love triangle, and frankly enabling it… that’s when it starts feeling downright bizarre. this manga genuinely writes adults like they’re 16, and it makes every bit of drama feel overblown for no reason.
i'll hold out for one more chapter and if not i'm dropping it. i also don't like how it's leaning into this student-teacher relationship vibe, with the whole "not because you're a teacher" and all. i don't know why she didn't shut that down, being a teacher or an adult in general should 100% be part of the reason to reject a student. but she's letting her think she has a chance?? there better not be any pedophilia..
