I kinda dislike these meta mouthpiece characters but I'm glad they managed to actually get tied into the main conflict a bit more.
To me was the opposite. I really liked when they were making cameos and acting as self-aware unapologetic plot devices to force contrived developments.
But now they are disruptive of the story and it feels like the author is so full of himself that he couldn't even let the story unfold without making himself one of the main characters.
