We’ve seen that distinction used a few times already. Asha here is barely standing after being pierced, Indra felt absolutely nothing (though now that we’ve seen that the damage isn’t necessarily visible, was he just hiding it?), and Agni told Mirha to never touch this spear.

It’s a much more interesting narrative use of the spear than just telling us how many sins a person has isn’t it
