I would have translated “初めてちゃんと見た” as “Saw Him Properly For The First Time”.

the other translation use "hehe" honestly work better. It also give the impression of bad guy laugh which add up to his misunderstood playboy look

3 hours for 4000 yen. That's around $28 US dollars. So a room is around 10 bucks an hour and that ain't a bad deal.

1. People do say “lol” out loud.
2. They're fictional characters in a comedy; what people do IRL doesn't matter anyway.
3. “w” is the Japanese “lol”, so it's the correct translation and better than the other's “haha”.
4. That being said, the 2nd one really should be “lolol” as the Japanese is “ww”.

Honestly might be cheaper than rent in some bigger cities as long as you can get up and out in 6-7 hours.

1. And those people deserve a kick to the jaw.
2. All the more reason to not be cringe like the people from 1.
3. "Correct" translation? Yes. Better? No.
4. The points above but twice.

Building onto this: Dude doesn't literally say "lol" but it's used as a shorthand for him laughing loudly, as in "Laughing Out Loud(ly)". Problem is that it's cringy when read like that.
