I like how they point out that the maid's personality has rubbed off on Kunon. It's the type of thing that would happen in real life, but I don't often see it in manga or anime. There have been times where the character in question is deliberately emulating their mentor, or gag scenes where the two characters are perfectly in sync, but this osmosis of personality onto the character-void Kunon seems a lot more natural to me.

If I saw this scene without being given the enough time to process the context, I'd be absolutely mortified. If fact, I'm not even sure, "it's my son's sorcery," is good enough context to prepare me to watch a seemingly living creature turn into goop. Like, sir, are you telling me that your son just liquified a cat in front of me like a fucked up party trick, or that the cat is made out of animated liquid? She did say, "huh?" so she didn't fully understand either. Anyway, that was absolutely dreadful. Couldn't he have just made it evaporate or something?
