In all fairness they kinda already did grow and change. She isnt as prickly and hard to talk to as before and he is far more outgoing and reliable. They're both significantly more socially adept now.

What's left is basically them learning romance and that their feelings for the other aren't exactly "normal " for pain ol friends

He said his cat passed away when he was in grade 9, and now he's in grade 10 (I think? Or just started grade 11?), so it's been less than 2 years since it happened.
