Ain't no way a supporting character is actually helping the main character make the most out of his power; her role should be nothing more than be shocked and explain with many words the events that have been already shown through the drawings!!!
You're just jealous you don't have a beautiful and powerfully talented childhood friend to cheer you on like he does.

I may or may not be one to talk, here.

In the comments of the previous chapter, I was half-joking that MC should go fist-bumping everyone in town.
Seems like that was indeed what the author had in mind.

"See that guy swaggin' down the road? That's the Fist Bumper. He gets more powerful the more he brofists people!"

"Whoaaaah... Does it work the other way?"

"Nope. That's why it's hard for him to skill up these days. Also, at the rate he's been going, he has to be total bros with a dragon to get anything out of it..."

In the previous chapter, the MC thought that he had to punch with intent while other people use skill in order to copy them. Now we speculate that if the other party consent to be copied, a gentle fist bump is enough.

When was it ever established that way? His very first use of the skill-stealing-punch was a weak punch, with no more damage than a fist bump. Pretty certain that "while other people use skill" and "consent to be copied" are both irrelevant. The MC was probably mistaken and his friend just dispelled that notion.

It wasn't that the MC need to deal damage, it was intent to hit. I guess I carried the misconception from the local scanlation discussion page when it reach chapter 5. Perhaps from the gag musing on the last page.
So far, we see that it wasn't physical touch per se. The first time, the MC did body blow. The second time, it was fist bump. There is a third time but it is from the raw, it was also a fist. So I would speculate that it had to be a fist. Otherwise, the MC would have randomly copied skill of people he shake hands, hug, pat shoulders with.

Yes, so far it has been a hand contact in the form of a fist.
Also, it never needed to 1. be direct skin contact, 2. strong enough to deal damage or 3. involve the target's consent.
So the conclusion from the facts until now is that the only "intent" needed so far is to make a fist and touch the target with it. The "intent" doesn't need to be to deliver a full-on punch.

I'm not even sure he needs to "intend" the contact... We'll see that in chapter 7 I suppose: if he managed to copy the skill of the exam supervisor, then intent is out and he just needs to touch someone with his fist, regardless of intent. After all, in this case, the supervisor involved himself and blocked the attacks before the MC realized he was there. MC never intended to hit the examiner.

The only serious uncertainty so far is whether MC needs knowledge or demonstration of the target's skill. Pretty sure not, but that's unclear.
It's possible that he needs a demonstration because he got it from both the bandit and the friend.
(The bandit was fighting him, so he "demonstrated" his skills in a real fight. The friend made a demonstration of her skill before the fist-bump.)
