Yeah, I kinda figured the king wouldn't be taken down so easily.

Anyways, this story has been pulling a lot of deus ex whatever for the past while now, so I'm really just waiting until the MC punches the king and copies his powers or he evolves all the skills he's stolen to date into some weird amalgam because we've already established that you can apparently do that and turn a skill into something completely deviated from it's original premise because why not?

Wait so the scar faced traitor commander Ralph got killed off just like that? That's kind of a shame he seemed like he could've put up a fight.

I think the author forgot to show the Chekov's Gun before it was used.
A twist of a twist of a twist out of nowhere is lame writing.

I don't consider this a Deus Ex. The king's contract with a dragon and his near-invulnerability have been introduced earlier, so they don't come out of nowhere. The exact details were left intentionally vague, but we were basically told to expect him to survive this much. At least unless and until the insurgents pull out a dedicated trump card of their own to counter it.
The sage's "abyss mode" is closer to it, but I don't consider it as such either. Having a fallback skill in case the cube is destroyed or stolen was quite a predictable precaution.

I also do feel like the MC should find a more creative use of his ability to copy skills than just use them one after the other exactly as he has seen them used before. It gives him quite a variety of actions, but they ultimately have a predictable component. Not to mention how little training he has with each of them. Someone like the sage has fewer cards to play, but he's much more proficient with them.
(Something about "I fear not the man who has practiced ten thousand kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick ten thousand times.")
He does have the limit of being able to use a single skill at a time, apparently, but he could likely find a way to work around it. This would come either with practice or, more in line with the pacing of this manga, with a sudden flash of inspiration.

First, Thank you author for another wonderfully done chapter, and the fact that you are still doing all of this on your phone is just amazing.

Second: They haven't used Princess Carmilla's power yet. Her strongest spell seems to be to shunt the damage she takes to someone else, my guess being the last person to touch her without harming her, so they could still trying kill her and have the damage go to the king, thus bypassing the One Body One Soul ability, but I don't think it is going to work.

Third: The real mind fuck here is that the Sage doesn't actually have any sage skills. If that is really the case, why would he have been given that class, just to be a Big Bad? I'm not buying it. I think there is a skill and MC is going to find out what it is while he is unconscious, because it is going to be the Chekov gun event in this.

Fourth: The King said that he always knows what his daughters are thinking, and I think he meant that quite literally and already knew that they were going to try and over throw him, but because of the conspiracy, he didn't know when and where.

Man, I'm glad I froze this series since chapter 27. I binged the entire series today, and I've no clue what the fuck is going on.

I had this series saved as a favorite, now I'm wondering what brain disease did I have to put it there.

King skill "one body one soul" probably that he and dragon can swap damage/body at any time? maybe king already suspect about the coup and he come with dragon from the beginning is already a ploy to bait them. by the look of it, no one know that dragon can took form of the king.

they invincible maybe because the contract works like Rimuru and Veldora soul corridor bond? need to take both of them at the same time?
I was thinking that he knew that the royal knights of Wiszen were never loyal to him and had always expected to betray him, but what actually though him for a loop was his own daughters betrayal

the rest of it idk but i like the idea its like Rimuru and Valdora because then it makes somewhat sense.
