Fun fact; most of your Calorie expenditure is from just being alive, and exercise doesn't increase it by much. If you want to lose weight, the real key is in decreasing your calorie intake; exercise helps a little, but not much, so if you find that you're often snacking and can't keep to low-Calorie snacks such as celery then you might be better off taking naps instead as that way you at least aren't taking in additional Calories.
In fact, if you are working out with the intention of losing weight, you may find that you actually gain weight instead as you put on muscle mass while the fat remains largely intact because you aren't increasing Calorie expenditure by much unless you get intense.

Wait... so all the boob stuff was pure naivety all along? Just because her overly touchy friend normalized it for her, she thought touching boobs makes people happy and "heal them", there was 0 sexuality this whole time?

This girl is a much bigger idiot than I expected. Jesus, I feel guilty now.

But muscle mass takes more calories to maintain therefore more calories burnt throughout the day.
Weight as a strictly numerical thing is dumb, because a 200lb 5ft person is an absolute ball of a person but 200lb at 6ft. Its also why strict BMI is stupid too, its useful in a very general sense but thats about it.
Sorry a bit rambly.

Well, at least she doesn't pull a Takao.

First he's acting like an old man, and then he's acting as if his pride will get hurt if he's not as fit as a youngster. Make up your mind already.

She's such a lovable tease.

If you want to lose weight, the real key is in decreasing your calorie intake;
If you want to accomplish that by just eating less, it's better to try to eat more balanced food. Most of the time it means cutting down on the sugar. Even replacing sugar with fat can help, since fat takes more energy to convert to energy. Not that I'd recommend eating more fat.

Strength training is one of the best ways to lose fat. And I agree, weight is largely pointless on its own. Measure the circumference of your stomach or something else instead.

BMI was never actually meant to be a health measuring tool. It was a way to get stats for an average human, or something like that, which doesn't have anything to do with health.

When I quit my desk job and started working as a janitor (mainly for health reasons), I gained some weight but got slimmer. According to BMI my health got worse, which is the opposite of what happened.

Muscle mass increases basal metabolic rate and is more dense then fat, which keeps you slimmer even if your weight increases overall, but some people are only concerned about the weight and couldn't care less about the actual health. That's why you get people attempting those crazy diets and becoming bulimic or anorexic.
Relying on muscle mass to increase metabolic rate also requires upkeep of that muscle; you hit your weight or figure goals and stop exercising without reducing your calorie intake, you're just going to relapse as all that muscle starts to atrophy. So if you're exercising to maintain a figure then that exercise needs to become an actual part of your life and not just something you do for a diet.

However all that goes out the window when you remember that women, especially girls, (and some men) are only concerned about their weight instead of their figure; they'll start working out to lose weight and see themselves starting to slim down, but also see their weight start to increase as they put on muscle, then they start taking drastic measures that ultimately end up hurting them, sometimes permanently. Because of that, I'll always stand by that if your purpose is to lose weight: take naps.
