So the princess played unfair and dirty to a bunch of commoners, and no one is gonna bitch her out? I was hoping someone would really shame her. Flip her the bird or something!
When it comes to war, 'shame' is but a hindrance they must put aside to achieve victory, even if it was just a mock battle. Sometimes a victory is decided when you successfully get into the enemy's head, and the princess accomplished that, at first. Kurono and his team just came back despite that, using their own strategy against them as a diversion.
Though it could have gone worse on the battlefield, it was still a game between fiery teenagers at the end of the day. There were winners and losers, and the lower-nobles finally got payback for their mistreatment and proved they were competent while the upper nobles experienced the taste of defeat and the humiliation they got from it. If there were any repercussions from that battle, it's that Kurono and the others have learned to
not trust the princess' words so easily, if not completely lose trust in her at all, but she's greedy and sees potential in him, hence the ending there.
Being an imperial princess, I kind of get it, and it makes her 'something' of a character, but it makes her a big annoyance as a romantic interest. A tsundere you can never trust their word on over anything, and it's hard to pick between that and the raging violent one if you had to pick between the two.
EDIT: Had to read a little of the previous version to get a refresher, and while the princess does call Kurono a 'friend', she's not above using her position to make trouble for him to pursue her own goals. Moreover, while I haven't read through fully, I'm pretty sure she has had multiple instances of snapping at him after hearing him sleeping with other girls and narrowly crushed his balls under her foot when there were
no hints of them ever having anything remotely romantic between them for MC to think otherwise, so ... yeah, that just help me reaffirmed her being on the lower end, if not lowest of female characters in this series.
