The plot of this story is that the MC’s parents are villains too, so they probably really shouldn’t care about what the viscount was doing. But… does the viscount know that?

yeah - Dad wouldn't care, unless this viscount was directly dipping fingers into the Dad's pot in the process.
Also, the Dad would probably care about impropriety toward "one's betters", even if that "better" was the son he considered shitty & worthless. Overlooking even that could be seen as a fracturing weakness in the strength of his family name, so the viscount would be crushed for it by Dad as well, simply for the sake of optics.
