Huh, they didn't announce the past 3 chapters here, and now they're no longer available. And more relationship progress happened in them than the rest of the previous 100 chapters... Kinda kills my motivation to continue reading...
Do a VPN via The Netherlands, chapter 99 and onwards are still accessible.

Lemon dumped him because of another girl who liked him was going to get her friends to bully her and worries that once they eventually break up they won't be friends anymore. Literally none of this is Sunao's fault. He's blaming himself for not being able to read minds at this point. I am allowed to feel bad for him thinking he was and still is a bad boyfriend and was at fault in the breakup.
That's not what pushed her to do it. There's more to this than a plot summary. The gist of it was that she felt he was the only person she could be herself with, and once they started dating she lost that. She had massive problems with her self-image, basically thinking she's chronically insincere and incapable of real bonds, and Sunao was the exception that gave her hope. The bullying was just the spark, not the deep cause.

Him saying he's also to blame probably just comes from a place of empathy. The guy is pretty emotionally mature for his age (thus something of a chick magnet), so he gets what she went through and feels he should have done more, even if it's a lot to expect from a kid. That's not him "gaslighting himself", that's him being kind. You know. His dominant character trait and all?

He's still blaming himself and labeling himself as a bad boyfriend because Lemon was too angsty to ever talk or open up. This is where we disagree and will likely never agree. I believe Sunao is blameless in that failed relationship and breakup and you don't. We'll leave it at that.
