huh now that im thinking about it, if she fell in love with lemon in Sunao's body, doesn't that make this a transgender romance?

I think it's still technically just body-swapping (I think there's an actual genre tag on some sites for that, but it might be wrapped up/incorporated under something else).

But mostly because transgenderism, as far as I'm aware, is a self-identity thing, and not based on things like sexual/romantic attraction, much less from an outside party. (S'why transwomen can be straight or gay or bi or whatever; separate axis of identity.)

If Sunao and/or Lemon preferred being in the other's body more than their own, then I guess that conversation could be had, but I don't recall any specific indication of that. And at that point, Kogahara's attraction still wouldn't be a factor in determining it, as far as I can figure.

That aside - if it does turn out that Kogahara fell in love with Lemon-in-Sunao's-Body specifically, then that just means she's attracted to the ...I guess "Entity" that is Lemon. IIRC she's shown no indication of sexual desire, let alone preference, up to this point - so it's not even a given, necessarily, that she's into masc over femme in general, so it being Sunao's body wouldn't (necessarily) matter at that point. (What do they call that...Demi-identity? Into a specific person first and foremost, not their presented biology?)

I dunno I might be too deep in the weeds over it at this point.

Her feelings were brewing long before but that was when things started to come together.

For attentive readers not trying to make every interaction of two female characters something to coom to, the ground work was laid in the lead up to the date that was just the moment she became aware that she had caught feelings.

However, for Kogahara who is simply shy and inexperienced in love and not some sort of A-label, this is very likely to be used as a reason for not addressing her internal dilemma and trying to sort her feelings, and instead as a reason to stomp her feelings back into the box, stay out of lemon's way, and avoid the messy problem of how she feels.
You know, until she realizes it won't work and things boil to a crisis point.


You act like she has a choice.
After all the shit she put Sunao through, turning bi for Kogahara is the LEAST she could do to make it up for it.
(lets just go right ahead and put a nice, clear /s on that because I have a feeling that's probably someone's unironic position)

Targeted bullying + big self esteem issues + being 14 years old.

She was being bullied due to being too nice(people thought she was being fake/egotistical/etc) and she didnt know how to handle the gossip/rumors/bullying and in a moment of weakness basically admitted the fake rumors were true due to thinking if they broke up the bullying would stop and they could just go back to being friends(even though she did enjoy being with him).

The first chapters showing of what happened was not how it actually went down exactly; Sunao having a nightmare-ized version of it. He knew it was probably fake right away but overtime he gaslight himself over years into thinking was true due to never knowing the truth.

Its "stupid" but they were literally 14 at the time. Neither knew how to do anything.

First of all, thanks for giving me an actual answer to my request for spoilers.

That's actually not as retarded as I thought it'd be. I myself have a few childhood memories that got distorted as I aged. Memories where I forgot the actual event but can still remember how it made me feel. Which leaves me trying to piece together the actual memory, but ending up feeling like I'm seeing an artist's interpretation of the event. So I can see how Sunao got there.

As for Lemon, it just sounds like a typical weak-minded teen making misguided decisions. I can't empathise, but I understand.

Now, these are just my thoughts on the impression your spoiler gave me, so I'll most likely have a different opinion when I actually see what happens in the story. But this is enough to form a basic opinion.

I just think this weird back and forth is, well, weird.

Seems a waste of time, they prob wont read it anyways so just let them know and let them move on. Or if telling them does make them read it then bam, now they can go read it.

And yeah, seems worth reading, from what I skimmed in the free chapters and your comment. Though nowadays I don't start reading ongoing series, so I'll just add it to my list of "waiting to be completed".
