I'm not squeamish when it comes to age gap romances and relationships like that, but in this particular case it left an unpleasant aftertaste. Can't quite put my finger on it as to why. I think the novel bit is a big reason why... And it didn't feel like Masaki's choice was a genuine adult decision made independently with his own feelings. Felt more like grooming in action although it wasn't that, idk.
