In this chapter, the three versions are almost identical. However, in the GX version, they cut the scene of Maomao and Xiaolan eating a snack after class. In the GX version, they also didn't show Xiaolan using a sand tray to practice writing.

But what really caught my attention in the GX version is the fact that the emperor calls Maomao by her name. I don’t recall the emperor ever calling Maomao by her name in the LN, though I might be mistaken. In the LN, the emperor always refers to Maomao indirectly, such as "the rumored apothecary," or later—this is a minor spoiler, but nothing you don’t already know—he calls her"Lakan’s daughter". But he never addresses her by her name.

"Since he only has his good looks," doesn't make sense in that context. I'd expect something more like, "Since he has his/so good looks."

If you do it as an occasional thing, make sure that once in a while you do it twice in a row, otherwise people would expect there to not be anything the next time.

Maomao would probably have taken that class if it was about poisons, medicine, chemistry, or biology.

Maomao is small, light, and easy to drag around.

Here, it’s also a bit different from the LN. From what I noticed, in the GX manga, the artist decided to make Maomao’s relationship with the Emperor lighter or closer. Unlike the LN, where the Emperor doesn’t have much closeness with Maomao. In the LN, Maomao only thinks that the Emperor called her to talk about the “illustrated books,” but she doesn’t directly ask him if that’s the topic. In fact, she even thought about asking Jinshi to talk to the Emperor about it instead of speaking to him directly.

Yeah. It's still obvious that she's got his favour, but she keeps her distance as is more befitting their roles. Of course, her actual social rank is high enough for some social interaction with the Emperor, due to her father, but that's something she doesn't like to think about.
