So they hold resentment because no one came for their and because they stayed still all those years? They never were able to left, nor they rised to a recognize position, they're just from the clinic and they can't even use medicines because it's forbidden to women.

Maomao understood that they knew about her father's list of recommendation but they never told anyone about that. Which means they're partially at fault for the baby who died, and it was probably a "victory" for them...

unpopular opinion about loumen (who I love) but the fact that Maomao is canonically malnourished and underfed in the early chapters is all because Loumen is shit with finance really annoys me.

They dont get enough food and money NOT bc he isnt capable of earning but because he just doesnt care much about money (mentioned that he usually doesnt charge for medicines and consultations or that he gives away medicines/food for free from time to time). I would have understood if he has a hard time looking for work bc he is crippled but no. A child grew up malnourished bc he just doesnt know or care about earning a proper living.

Jinshi possibly should have been putting more attention on the clinic. Obviously it’s easy to say that now and with hindsight, but we only know info as it’s revealed. Having a place where the forgotten or abandoned father might feel like a service for their benefit but it remains a cage.

Rare of her to acknowledge her blood father, even if indirectly.

"Hard to believe he raised you. He seems kind and calm."
"He's just normal."
"He seems like a sensible man."
Maomao getting some shade. 😆

"He's eating cat leftovers..."
One, I don't think Maomao should complain, and two, pet food is quite often edible for humans. Sometimes even tasty.

It's so rare to read people referring to the quack by name.

"Don't pick plants without permission."
Copy that, Maomao?
