I really like Rakan, so in happy he is appearing more. I do find it amusing he looks the same to me between the two versions.

Quite surprised that she showed off her pinky. From what I've read of the story, it really hasn't had any major impact outside some minor character building. Was a bit disturbing to see though, as I have a family trait where my pinky fingers point in, and her's points out due to the injury.

Thanks for working on this.

"Good taste, you like the poisonous mushroom."
Maomao, never cease being you.

"Someone saw one before."
"Drugs?"
"The country would be destroyed!"
Thing is, drugs back in history were far more accepted than they are now. Now, I'm not sure about the region and time they're in, but various drugs were in common use all over the world until relatively recently.

She so happy about that certain strategist.

That's a raher thick thin book.

She's so good about health, which means she shares the same trait as a lot of doctors of being absolutely crap at applying that to herself.

Magnificient beard man.

There's a reason he can't get a read on that man. That man is random. A bit like a child, but far more intelligent.

He's the birth father of Maomao, as well as a military strategist high up in the palace

It will soon, and so will the painted nails...

...when this guy showns up. Maomao is quite the strategist herself, and as Musashi points out: the duel begins long before the opponents stand face-to-face.

That's a raher thick thin book.
Maomao is nothing if not thorough.

I rather enjoy seeing Luohan at the dinner party- him pulling the wig makes me feel like Maomao does kind of resemble him in some ways. Not that she'd do something like that, but she does kind of tease people...

Maomao teaching the princess about poisonous mushroom was fun to see.
Just Maomao being Maomao, ofcourse (loving poison).

Hum... Couldn't you have put this in a spoiler tag ? Thank you.
I would put a spoiler tag for this, had this information not already been revealed chapters prior. The only way my comment would be a spoiler is if you either came to this forum without reading the prior chapters (which is highly unlikely and sets yourself up for spoilers anyways), or you simply missed this detail in your reading (which wouldn't make it a spoiler as you should know this information by this chapter).

Well, if I said this, it's because the information is revealed next chapter, so you are wrong until proven otherwise. :)

Okay I would like to both apologize and explain, as my comment was actually a spoiler... but it shouldn't have been one. In chapter 21, as Jinshi is telling Luohan (Rakan) about the lowering of a courtesan's value and Luohan calls him a thief for "stealing" Maomao, what this manga version says and what the BG manga and anime say are different (for some reason). In this version of Apothecary Diaries (the GX manga), he only refers to her as "that girl". However, in chapter 29.2 of the BG manga and episode 18 of the anime, which cover the same material, he specifically refers to her as "daughter". As these are all adaptations of the original light novel, I cannot say whether him explicitly calling her his daughter at this point in the story is what actually happened, but as that did NOT happen in this version of the story, it is a spoiler. I conflated my experience with the anime and other manga version and did not realize such a difference was present in this version. I apologize for spoiling and for doubling down on it, though I hope you can understand where my mistake came from. I have now put a spoiler tag on my original post so that no one else is spoiled by it.

Don't you worry about all this.
I knew beforehand that this misunderstanding would probably happen, as quite a few commentators come here after having read the other version and even after having seen the anime each chapter, so their spoiling is quite unavoidable.
What prompted my message here is that this information was litteraly impossible to guess on our own.
I don't blame you for your mistake :)

Anyway if you look at people answering you, their quote isn't under a spoiler (so isn't mine), so let's just say this was to satisfy my desire for thoroughness and that's it :p

By the way I though you couldn't edit a comment after a certain time so I didn't think you could have put a spoiler tag when writing my first comment, I just wanted to adress the issue for the sake of it, it was just my selfish desire haha ;)
