tbh I find it a little rude to know someone for so long, talking (i think) almost every day, and not even bother to see they in person, maybe it's a cultural difference and it's more relatable for Japanese ppl i dunno

The way I imagine it is that she purposefully avoids suggesting that they meet or introducing herself because she needs to hide her identity, and he's so Japanese-polite/reserved that he refrains from taking the initiative, and so the status quo persists.
