The artist is alive and has a very active twitter (he draws a lot of boy love and some ecchi).

The author doesn't give any news and his twitter is inactive since 2021. His last web novel chapter was written in 2021 for this story. His last written web novel chapter is for a new series he started in 2021. The last chapter was written in October 2023. The light novel version of this manga has been stuck at volume 3 since the end of 2020.

I don't think he's dead, because on the manga's website, it says “next update date: undecided”. If the author had died, they would have cancelled the manga. The author either has health problems, is in burnout, or has put his career on hold...

I thought it was the other way around. Looks like the author is active on twitter (Mostly just reposting stuff) and the artist hasn't made any action on their account since 2021
