From what we understand about L.A.G there’s not really a time sensitive aspect to it. They don’t die from hunger either, well, that actually depends on the chapter, kinda changes from chapter to chapter as the author needs it.

what I’m trying to get at, is that he should have unlimited time to look for them, no? Yet he just say fuck it and leaves.

I mean... since it's a manga we can't really acertain how long he spent either cuz there's no real reference of time in the world either, especially in that thunder cloud

Idk i feel like its mentioned that they dont need to eat, that after they evolved at the start of the game, as for those black creatures they also said that they don't need to eat, they do it for pleasure
