I'm really uncomfortable, albeit curious with how this chapter casts Achmea as essentially a Bodhisattva - he choose to stay behind in the suffering of the universe rather than be freed through enlightenment (Adamant's prayers) in order to care for and guide other beings to that same point.
His real name also casts him as the Judge of the Dead though, so I wonder just how much of a part he played in determining the "caste system" the Lunarians used to decide their place in line. The context we learned this chapter explains much of why the current Lunarians have such loyalty towards him, however.
