So

as this

story

was told

in a very

slow

manner,

I grew

weary

and quit reading

about the time

that he

decided

to flee

after

being told

to wear

the armor.

I struggle a bit to understand the concept. so the mc has a curse that makes him unable to get levels, but he gets an item in chapter 1 that lets him get levels anyway.

What's the point of the story?

It's just the typical fantasy/isekai. This is why I grow tired of them. They start with interesting and unique premises. Then, after the first X chapters (usually not more than 5), they have completely abandoned their traits and become generic. I'll give this one another 3 chapters before dropping. Most likely going to be dropped though

Lots of these series are escapist fantasy for the bullied and social outcasts. The curse is the source of the isolation and bullying, the armor is the characters chance to end the cycle of abuse.

Stories tend to cater to the desires of the culture they are written for and Japan has a real bad bullying problem, which increases both the desire for these types of series and the number of amature writers who write and post them on web novel sites. leading to this type of story being both seen and consumed, which leads to businesses making more stories like that.

I could not find a WN for this, but I found similar stories.

I don't think the concept is bad, per se, but the execution is...a bit lackluster, I think. Not to mention the story is already kind of dragging from chapter 1. Like, reading it felt very slow, and I'm not completely sure how to explain it. I'm okay with generic escapist fantasy stories, but at least don't drag it along.
