It's a bit anticlimactic that it all turned out this way, but tbh, this chapter stays true to the core of the manga. I also liked seeing how Evans is actually completely like his father, who appears to be more successful at acting cool. After all, (iirc) his father appeared to be a smooth, cool guy who did get the ladies. But perhaps that too was a deception, just like how Adult Evans deceives everyone into thinking he's cool. All in all, good arc.

I think it's cool that the manga maintains that both Evans and his dad are a bit of a shit but there is something genuine underlying, I especially appreciate that Kurt's motivation deep down was to impress his son and teach him (in his own twisted way) to be confident. Kurt is egotistical and vain but he has the skill to carry it while Evans is still to self-aware to be that shameless...yet.
