God, Song Li is such a great moe gap, smart successful beautiful woman but at the same time such useless lesbian

Song Li this chapter: I want to be her mommy? :thonk:
Song Li soon: I want to be her  mommy :finnawoke:

Meanwhile I can't tell if Hu Luoluo is being dense or just not realizing she liked Chilly too when younger, all I know is that this panel:

Luoluo better not have left Song Li alone after a night of drink vulnerability!
Song Li though doesn't quite seem to know what her feelings are yet, otherwise I think she'd be more forward. She's not said 'I love her' to herself yet so we may be in for a longer ride than anticipated.

Absolutely going to be a fake-out - the real question is who did the most stupid shit while blind drunk, and my money is on Song Li . . .

But it's definitely good to see Hu LuoLuo properly communicating the fact that she feels they need to reset their relationship, not end it. Also, for all that she's playing the useless lesbian to a tee, Song Li is also starting to actually open up a bit - still well short of actual healthy communication, but she's no longer on the other side of the planet, just the next city . . .

But definitely a fake-out. For sure . . . probably? No, it has to be, there's no way Hu LuoLuo would be such a sloppy drunk . . . surely . . .

I don't think she was into Chilly - I don't think she was into anyone, otherwise she wouldn't have been talking the way she was in the flashback that lead to that panel. A LuoLuo who's been hit by the hetero sexytimes interest would have been talking about specific boys/men there rather than throwing out such generic ideas, and a LuoLuo who's been hit by any sexytimes interest, straight or gay, would definitely not talking about how nice it'd be if she was a boy since then she could marry young-Chilly (whose name I can't recall, dammit) and hang out all the time. That's not playing ignorant, it's genuine innocence.

I'm not sure what she'd say now, though - as I've said far too many times in the past, she's gotten hot and bothered by Song Li multiple times, and she seems to be at least somewhat aware of it, the real question is whether she's been keeping her thoughts about that really close to her chest, or whether she just hasn't noticed it.

I've bounced around a bit on this, but I'm coming down more and more on the side of Hu LuoLuo being a lot more canny than she seems - she seemed to have had an inkling about Chilly's true identity from the start, and now it feels like she's got a fairly good idea of what's going on with Song Li, even if she's being very careful not to actually say anything about it. Right now it feels like she's consciously chosen to hold off on anything deeper, and instead is aiming to lay a new set of foundations under their relationship - not resetting everything back to the beginning, but putting in some pilings and setting up the rebar cage before the . . . um . . . concrete trucks come in . . . that metaphor seemed great when I started . . .

Ahem.

Yes, proper foundations rather than the weird shit they had at the start. And setting things up so that they can be friends is the most basic part of that, which is perfectly illustrated by the drunken snack fest they just had.

Depending on what actually happened last night, we may find that her carefully laid rebar...er, foundation-laying plans are completely scuppered by the realisation that Song Li is actually just seriously hot . . . Or we may not.

You make some very good points :thonk:

And you're right, Hu Luoluo probably didn't even have any relationship yet, at least I suspect so, but her being interested in Chilly was a safe assumption, it's generally the usual cliche lol

I wonder if having no relationship experience is part of the reason she misses some of Song Li peacocking, after all she is smarter than it seems as you said, but some clearly fly over her head.
